MCB SCHOOL NEEDS YOUR HELP!
At the heart of everything we do at Miami City Ballet, is our central belief in classical ballet’s power to uplift, unite, enchant, and transform.
The ability to transform lives is our reason for being at the Miami City Ballet School.
Miami City Ballet School fosters artistry, love of dance, and respect for one another. We introduce children and youth, beginning at age three, to this beautiful form. We prepare students who aspire to a professional life on the stage. We even offer the opportunity for adults at all skill levels to explore their love of dance.
Tuition covers just a portion of dance education at Miami City Ballet School. And it does not even begin to cover the expenses of offerings outside of the studio. In fact, year after year, a part of the School’s expenses is underwritten by MCB’s annual operating budget.
The fact is that your investments – at any level – in the School will set the course for the academy’s future success. Your generosity will allow us to:
- Provide more scholarships for promising young local and international dancers.
- Access better and increased housing, allowing more students to study with us. This is critically important as we strive to maintain diversity in our studios, with a special emphasis on bringing more men into the art form.
- Ensure our pre-professional students have the support they need including access to medical care, food, transportation, and travel to access auditions as they get ready for their careers.
- Offer all of our students with wellness support, including nutrition training, injury prevention, and physical therapy.
- Provide pointe shoes, uniforms, castanets, and Spanish shoes, which are often too costly for some students. A female student will use approximately 48 pairs of pointe shoes, at a cost of $100 per pair.
- Continue live music in the rehearsal studio, something not every school is able to offer.
